Peak was formed in November 2002 and is funded by Yorktown Energy Partners (New York City, NY). Since its inception, Peak has acquired properties in Wyoming, Texas, New Mexico and Nebraska. Peak is now in its third iteration, having sold its first project to Forest Oil Corp in April, 2005 and its second project to XTO Energy in July 2006. Peak is headquartered in beautiful southwest Colorado in the town of Durango.
